We visited Ian Pullan, Golf Superintendent at Hollins Hall Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Bingley, West Yorkshire to see what challenges Ian and his team were facing coming into the winter months. The country club course was designed by Ross McMurray and hosted the PGA EuroPro Tour event from 2001 to 2003. Ian talks us through the challenges a typical winter season brings with:

  • Dry patches on undulating greens.
  • Contending with high winds that interrupt sprinkler cover.
  • Worm castings.
  • Japanese weed.

As well as treating the main disease in the UK, Fusarium prominent through September, October and November (Autumn).
