In 2014, we ran The Back 9 Challenge as a large scale demonstration program. Wollongong Golf Club was one of five golf clubs that participated.
Wollongong Golf Club is an 18-hole links-style course located on the coast south of Sydney. At the time is was undergoing some modifications by Ross Watson. Greens are Bentgrass/Poa. Tees and fairways are Kikuyu or Couchgrass. Being on the coast generally good air movement occurs but still diseases like Pythium and Dollar Spot generally occur in summer months.

At Wollongong Golf Club autumn has seen the start in decline of average temperatures. In March maximum temperatures have ranged between 20 and 30°C. While minimums at night have generally fluctuated between 15-20°C. March was extremely wet with 342mm of rainfall.
