Strathfield Golf Club is a Drum Muster central collection point for many turf mangers in Sydney.

Drum muster is a programme for the collection and recycling of chemical containers. There are 760 sites across Australia where containers are collected.

Another form of re-cycling at Strathfield GC occurred after the Ben Hur Spectacular was staged at the nearby Olympic Stadium.

The paths get their characteristic red colour from the recycled rock used for the Ben Hur spectacular.

The red crushed rock used on the Ben Hur spectacular arena is now the base for many of the paths at the golf course.
