South Coast golf clubs faced the challenging 2019-20 bushfires with resilience and support for their communities. When towns were told to evacuate, the clubs opened their doors to provide refuge and assistance to those in need. Members of the clubs slept in the clubhouse and meals were provided to volunteers. The experience was horrific for those who lost their homes, but the community showed resilience and support throughout the crisis. Despite power outages, the community made efforts to protect the area from ember attacks, using irrigation systems and enlisting firefighting planes and helicopters.

Watch the video to learn how the clubs worked together with their communities to overcome this tragedy.
