Nematodes in Perth. Are U at Risk?

Three year master plan for Mount Lawley Golf Course.

Print page

Mount Lawley Golf Course has embarked on a three-year plan to replace 20 greens due to nematode infestations and other challenges. Partnering with course architects OCM, they developed a greens replacement plan. Despite delays due to COVID-19, Stage 1 was completed in February 2023 and they have just commenced the last stage. The project includes new sand belt-style bunkers and a clean-cut edge design. The upgraded greens now require less chemical fertiliser and labour. The course has chosen specific turf and sand mixes to manage nematode populations and improve sustainability. The project has already shown promising results with healthier, stronger greens.
