[Melbourne, August 25th] – In a significant advancement for wilding conifer control in New Zealand, Envu, a global innovator in agrochemical solutions, is proud to announce the launch of Method 240 SL Herbicide. This cutting-edge herbicide is set to revolutionize weed management and enhance efficiencies while promoting environmental stewardship across Aotearoa.

Method 240 SL is a breakthrough formulation designed to address the unique challenges faced by New Zealand's conservation land managers. With a strong commitment to preserving the country's natural beauty and biodiversity, Envu has developed a product that balances effective and efficient weed control with substantially lower use rates compared to current practices.

Peter Merson, category manager at PGGW, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, saying, "Method 240 SL represents a significant step forward in sustainable conservation efforts. We are proud to introduce a solution that empowers land managers to effectively manage wildings while preserving the natural beauty and ecological balance that make New Zealand so unique."

Envu has been conducting trials now for several years with various industry stakeholders in the Central South Island to evaluate the efficacy of Method on various conifer & pine species.

Some of these trials took place over two sites near the town of Twizel, and Jyri Kaapro, Senior Development Specialist at Envu, says “The results show Method will be extremely useful for landholders in Aotearoa in terms of both cost effectiveness and efficacy.”

“At one site, we are trialing aerial foliar spray application (AFSA) of Method on Pinus contorta and have been looking at the trees 24 months after they have been treated,” Mr Kaapro explains.

“Many of the trees that have been treated with Method as the only active ingredient at the label rate have died which is a very significant result and in further trial work underway we’re finding that combining Method with other active ingredients such as triclopyr will further enhance its spectrum of activity and speed of kill. What appears to be clear is that Method has the potential to become one of the most significant woody weed herbicides for many years.”

As New Zealand continues to lead the way in sustainable conservation practices, Method 240 SL stands as a testament to the innovative spirit and commitment to environmental responsibility that define the nation's eco-tourism industry.
