Poa Seedheads And Uneven Greens

Strathfield Golf Club is preparing for summer after renovations at the end of August. Green speeds were good for the club championships last weeks. Poa seedheads are making the greens slightly uneven, but these should disappear as we move into warmer weather. Last week brought 75mm of welcome rainfall.

Strathfield Golf Club is preparing for summer after renovations at the end of August. Green speeds were good for the club championships last weeks. Poa seedheads are making the greens slightly uneven, but these should disappear as we move into warmer weather. Last week brought 75mm of welcome rainfall.

Greens are being mown at 3mm, overs-sown tees at 10mm and the Kikuyu fairways at 14mm. Tempo application seems to be holding Argentine Stem Weevils at bay. Areas in the rough not sprayed with Merit® are showing the presence of Billbugs.
