Recent research from the University of Tennessee and Rutgers University has demonstrated that the efficacy of Tribute Selective Turf Herbicide used for post-emergence Crowsfoot Grass control is affected by environmental conditions at application. Crowsfoot Grass control was greatest when there was;
- Sufficient soil moisture – 14% control at a volumetric water content (VMC) of less than 12%, compared to 87% control at a VMC greater than 20%
- High evaporative demand – i.e., low humidity and high temperature.
Monitoring soil moisture, humidity and air temperature conditions will help determine conditions for optimum control of Crowsfoot Grass with Tribute Selective Turf Herbicide.
For Crowsfoot Grass control best results are achieved when Tribute Selective Turf Herbicide is applied;
- To weeds which are young.
- To weeds not under moisture stress.
- Under low humidity and high but not extreme temperature.
- And mowing is delayed for a few days before and after application.
