Step 1. What do house owners in your area want?

Your first step in developing a unique selling position is to understand what’s important to house owners in your particular area.

Step 2. How can you deliver what customers want, better than anyone else?

If it is ‘experienced and professional staff’, how are yours more experienced and dedicated than the pest control company down the road? How do you measure professionalism? Is it through the number of customer recommendations?

Step 3. How do you get your USP message across?

How do you get that message across credibly to a house or commercial owner looking for pest control services whether walking past the company shop front or visiting your website for the first time? A good start might be to have some customer comments on your website or develop a customer survey.
